Camera, Women, Man, and Fishtank

Director, editor, and cinematographer: Chi Jang Yin

DV, silent, 2007

Synopsis

This investigation of the body and the movement of the camera questions the process of seeing and its limitations. The circling motions of the camera follow the repetitive journey of the fish in the tank while simultaneously juxtaposing opposite-sex relations. The camera functions as a tool to record and to recreate this reality from a distorted perspective. The idea of seeing and being seen merge together in this view through the lens of the fish tank.
